Position: Security Officer
Role Overview
As a Security Officer at JCT, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of our theatres, staff, and visitors. Your responsibilities will include access control, parameter patrolling, security systems operations, and responding to security incidents. We are looking for a dedicated individual who can maintain a vigilant presence and uphold our commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Access Control and Patrolling:
- Monitor entrances and exits.
- Verify credentials of staff, visitors, and contractors.
- Conduct regular patrols to prevent unauthorized access.
- Security Systems Operations:
- Operate surveillance cameras, alarms, and other security equipment.
- Report any malfunctions promptly.
- Emergency Response:
- Respond swiftly to security breaches, disturbances, or emergencies.
- Coordinate with emergency services when necessary.
- General Security Services:
- Conduct office inspections to ensure compliance with security protocols.
- Perform vehicle searches as needed.
- Assist with crowd management during events.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: Minimum Grade 9
- Security Certification: Grade C Security Certificate
- PSIRA Registration: Compliance with PSIRA requirements
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for up to 4 hours
- Basic Computer Skills: Familiarity with basic software applications.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication
- Judgment: Excellent decision-making abilities.
Experience
- At least one year of security experience in a similar role.
Salary and Benefits
- Basic Salary: R9,531.54 (excluding benefits)
- Market-related salary based on qualifications and experience
